- Medical disorders that make it impossible for a woman to bear a child, such as a missing uterus or uterine abnormalities, such as significant scarring, past uterine operations, or a weak cervix

Some women are required to take medication that could adversely affect a growing fetus.
Age
If a woman is at an age where she would not be able to safely carry a pregnancy.
Medical condition
A woman may be experiencing a medical condition that doesn’t enable her to carry a pregnancy. Or might be life-threatening if she does.
Born Without a Uterus
There are situations where women are born without a uterus, or she has a specific condition where her uterine lining will not sustain a pregnancy.
Unexplained Infertility
An unexplained infertility occurs after a woman has tried 3 or 4 IVF cycles with good quality embryos but does not get pregnant.
What are the available surrogacy options for Heterosexual couples?
There are not many options available for surrogacy for same-sex couples and 2 dads across the globe. Still, for heterosexual couples, there are several alternatives for gestational surrogacy.
- The sperm of the male partner can fertilise the eggs of the female spouse. The embryo(s) that developed will be transferred to the gestational carrier in this sort of surrogacy for couples.
- If the female partner is unable to donate her own eggs, the heterosexual couples have the option of using a family member as an egg donor, selecting a woman from our egg donor programme, or purchasing frozen eggs from an egg bank. The male partner’s sperm is mixed with the donor eggs.
- The intended parents can pick a sperm donor if the male partner is unable to give his own sperm. The donor sperm will be mixed with the eggs of the female spouse.
- The final option is to fertilise donor eggs with donor sperm and then transfer the resultant embryo(s) to the gestational carrier’s womb.
